Abstract
An approximate value of the fundamental frequency coefficient of the structural system described in the title is determined in the present paper using the optimized Raileigh-Ritz method.
The displacement amplitude is expressed in terms of polynomial coordinate functions which satisfy, identically, the governing boundary conditions.
Some errors existing in the technical literature when dealing
with vibrating plates, subject to non-uniform in-plane stresses, are pointed out.
