Análise por Elementos Finitos da Superfície de Ruptura de Escavações a Céu Aberto Utilizando um Modelo Elasto-Plástico não-Associado
Abstract
An elasto-plastic work hardening model with nonassociated flow rule was implemented into finite element code in order to study the behavior of open-cut unbraced excavations. The theoretical failure surface of a slope excavated in a cohesionaless soil may be defined by means of limit equilibrium analysis.
The results obtained for an excavation that reaches the failuyre state are presented. They show a clear agreement between the failure wedge characterized by this numerical analysis and the limit equilibrium results.
