Application of a Hierarchic Finite Element to the Analysis of Skeletal Structures
Abstract
A new finite element methodology based on the hierarchic concept is proposed for the static and dynamic analysis of tapered skeletal structures.
The variable order of the hierarchic element allows for fast and efficient modeling and analysis.
Theoretical basis of the method together with two illustrative examples are presented.
