2nd Aircraft Structural Design Conference

Desde: 26-10-2010
Hasta: 28-10-2010
Lugar: London, UK

Dear Colleagues,

The 2nd Aircraft Structural Design Conference will take place in London, UK,
Oct 26-28, 2010. The Organising Committee invites prospective authors to
submit abstracts for presentation at the Conference. Abstracts should be
written in English and contain between 200 - 500 words. Abstracts should be
submitted in electronic format by Monday 22 March 2010.Selection will be made
on the abstract content and applicability to the final published programme
requirement.

Please send Abstracts (quoting ref: 638) by 22 March 2010 to:
hinal.patel at aerosociety.com

The official call for papers can be found here:
	http://www.aerosociety.com/conference/PDFs/638CFP.pdf

Papers and other contributions will be sought to cover the following broad
topic areas:

Structural designs for the next generation of aircraft
- To meet the environmental challenges
- To meet high volume traffic requirements
- To meet high volume manufacturing requirements
- To meet cost and requirements constraints
- To meet emerging requirements for improved safety

Design with novel or advanced materials
- Innovative use of CFRP including aeroelastic tailoring
- Re-cycling and re-used of CFRP
- Role for GLARE and other fibre-metal laminates (Aluminium-Lithium etc)
- Very novel materials o Manufacturing with novel materials

Computational Methods for Designing (CMD) the next generation of aircraft
structures
- Methods for global design
- Methods for optimising in complex design situations –
either multi-disciplinary or single discipline environments
- Methods for concurrent/distributed design environments
- Mass estimation methods
- Methods for design/optimisation with manufacturing
constraints
- Role of testing to support CMD – i.e. relating to structural
certification and validation
- Inclusion of higher fidelity models in the conceptual
design process
- Modelling and Optimisation approaches that include
uncertainty
- Morphing of Aircraft Structures

Best regards,
