On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the COBEM 2011 we wish to invite you 
to participate in the 21st International Congress of Mechanical Engineering. 
This conference will be held in a paradisiacal place, close to the Atlantic 
Ocean at Natal city in the Northeast of Brazil, from 24 to 28 of October 2011. 
The choice of such a comfortable place was deliberately made to make sure that 
communications and discussions will be better fostered between participants. 
Held every two years, since 1971, COBEM is the most important event in the 
field of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering in all Latin America. This 
Congress gathers experts coming from research area and industry. This mixed 
community is also transversal by welcoming people from Mechanical and 
Industrial Engineering, Bioengineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical 
Engineering, Electric Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Petroleum 
Engineering, Mechatronics and Robotics fields.

COBEM reached its international status in the year of 2001. Since its eleventh 
edition, it has seen a lot of trans-national projects to be incubated, 
contributing to the structuring and the emergence of a new international 
community interested in Mechanical Sciences and Engineering. The main theme of 
COBEM 2011 is Green Mechanical Engineering. In this scenario we will have a 
unique opportunity to examine and discuss technologies and innovations with a 
focus on "Sustainable Mechanical Engineering”. We are looking forward to 
receiving your contribution and to host you in Natal/Brazil in October of 
2011.
