USACM Thematic Conference: Biomechanics and,Mechanobiology

Dear IACM Members,

We are pleased to invite your participation in the first USACM Thematic
Conference on Multiscale Methods and Validation in Medicine and Biology,
which will be held at the

Francisco-Airport-Burlingame-California/index.do> Embassy Suites Hotel San
Francisco Airport Burlingame on February 13-14, 2012. The title of the
conference is Biomechanics and Mechanobiology.  The two-day meeting will
feature a technical program of roughly 100 talks in two parallel sessions,
and a social program providing ample opportunity to meet, communicate and
collaborate in a collegial environment at daily breakfasts, lunches and
evening receptions, hosted by the conference. At this time we are also
soliciting ideas for Conference Themes.   

 

The conference will focus discussions on topics including the following:

*	Mechanobiology at the molecular, cellular, tissue and organ levels
*	Multiscale mechanics of biological macromolecules in health and
disease
*	Multiscale biofluid mechanics and mass transport
*	Multiscale mechanics of biological membranes and films and filaments
*	Multiscale mechanics of adhesion
*	Biomolecular motors and force generation
*	Mechanics of bioanoporous materials
*	Tissue regeneration and growth
