Description:

The objective of this summer school is first, to provide the necessary
background in the mathematics of finite elements, and second, to build on
this background by addressing the topics of adaptivity and discontinuous
Galerkin methods. The lectures will be accompanied by computing laboratory
sessions. The summer school is aimed at an audience of graduates in the
engineering or mathematical sciences. It will be suitable for PhD students
and for researchers seeking a foundation in theoretical aspects of the
finite element method.
