We would like to inform you about the deadlines for Minisymposia submission
in the
MECOM del Bicentenario
MECOM 2010 - IX Congreso Argentino de Mecánica Computacional y II Congreso
Sudamericano de Mecánica Computacional
CILAMCE 2010 - XXXI Congreso Ibero-Latino-Americano de Métodos
Computacionales en la Ingeniería
Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, Argentina
15 - 18 November 2010.
Those people who wish to organise a Special Session in MECOM 2010 are
invited to make a proposal (http://www.mecom2010.net/mini).
For that they must consider:
* Minisymposia should be clearly different from a general presentation
session; they should have an integrative nature and include new data and
ideas on a topic of general interest. Note that only minisymposia which
meet the above requirements shall be considered.
* A minisymposia session should have at least 4 papers, eventually
including a keynote lecture. If the number of papers were more than
eight, the session could be subdivided. As for allpapers, in order to
include them in the technical program the authors should confirm their
presence in the congress for the oral exposition. This is done in order
to avoid blanks in the final program.
* It should be avoided that an organised session contain mostly papers
from a single research group.
* The organising committe could, in some cases, ask the special session
organizer to include a paper already sent to the congress secretariat
and that be pertinent to the special session theme. This could be done
with the organiser agreement and if the number of papers allows the
inclusion of the paper.
* The policy for publication of papers in the proceedings requires
anonymous reviewprocess.
*No financial support for the minisymposia can be granted.
*Where similar minisymposia are proposed, the Academic Committee will
discuss with the minisymposia proposers to merge the two minisymposia or
arrive to an alternative topic for one of the minisymposium. It is
important that those speakers that have been confirmed for an accepted
session are present in the minisymposium and deliver the presentation.
*Once the minisymposia proposal is accepted, speakers will be asked to
upload presentation titles and abstracts to the online submission system
by the presentation abstract deadline (May 31, 2010).
The Special Session organiser should:
1. Submit to MECOM 2010 Scientific Committee (edvorkin en simytec.com),
before March 30th, 2010:
* Title of the minisymposium.
* Full name of the organizer(s).
* Organizer(s) e-mail(s).
* Organizer title and afiliation.
* Abstract: description of the minisympsium subject and main
themes covered in not more than 250 words.
* Webpage addres of the session (if any; it is not mandatory),
to be linked from the MECOM 2010 website.
* Tentative list of authors and speakers to invite.
2. Invite known specialists to participate, and make eventual
publicity.
3. Receive and evaluate the abstracts, taking into account the
congress deadlines.
4. Send to MECOM 2010 Scientific Committee, regularly or at deadlines
for abstracts and full papers, a list of the received papers and some
comment about the session organisation.
5. Conduct anonymous review process for the full length papers,
except for those authored or co-authored by the session organiser(s). In
this case they should send them to MECOM 2010 Scientific Committe for
the review.
6. Chair the special session.
