Post-doctoral fellowship in numerical analysis and scientific computing at

Applications are invited for a post-doctoral fellowship in the area of
numerical analysis and scientific computing, within the division of
Mathematical and Computational Sciences & Engineering at KAUST.

The fellowship will involve development of high order
numerical methods for hyperbolic PDEs, with application to studying
nonlinear wave propagation. Possible areas of emphasis include
nonlinearly stable solvers, high order non-oscillatory finite volume
methods, and positivity preserving methods. In addition, the
successful candidate will be expected to pursue independent, but
complementary, research of his own.

The applicant should have a Ph.D. in applied mathematics or a related
field, and an excellent research record demonstrated by journal
publications. The fellowship will include a competitive salary,
commensurate with the applicant's qualifications, as well as benefits
including housing, insurance, and yearly round-trip tickets to home

The successful applicant will interact closely with collaborators at
international partner institutions, and will be expected to present
results at major international conferences. This is a two-year
position with possible renewal for a third year. The start date is
negotiable. There are no teaching duties associated with this
