<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-US">The Scientific Research Projects Management Department of the Vice
Presidency of Research, Development and Innovation (DICYT-VRID) at Universidad
de Santiago de Chile, is opening a position for a post-doctoral grant.
Candidates should perform Computational Fluid Fechanics research in the field
of fluid-solid interaction including free surface flow problems. In particular,
modelling in parallel architecture will be developed. The research activities
are involved in an on-going project supported by Chilean Council for Scientific
and Technological Research (CONICYT- project FONDECYT 1130278) leader by
Marcela Cruchaga. In this context, the project offers collaboration with other
research teams in foreign countries. Moreover, the successful applicant,
according to their own interest, could develop experimental skills and work
nearby under-graduate students in collaborative tasks.</span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:8pt"></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-US">The responsibilities of the position include successful research in
the field of Computational Fluid Mechanics in terms of computational methods
and algorithms in parallel architecture as well as verification and validation
of the numerical formultaion proposed. The research activity will be valuable
in a number of prepared research articles, a minimum of one accepted research
article at the end of the postdoctoral stage is required. </span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:8pt"></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span lang="EN-US">The postdoc position is for one year extensible to two or three
years. The extension is restrictive to present a candidature to the a
Postoctoral Fellowship supported by CONICYT as well as to the Academic
Insertion Program offered by the same organization. In particular this last
Program gives to the candidate the possibility to get a formal academic
position at USACH.</span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size:8pt"></span></p>

Physicists or Mathematicians with a PhD in Computational Fluid Mechanics or
related areas are invited to apply for this position. The applicant should have
expertise in the area including familiarity with FORTRAN (C++ not excluded) programming, UNIX computing
environments, OpenMP and MPI protocols
and open source enviroments are required.</span></p>
