This period corresponds to a period a large investments in Brasil in civil engineering structures</div><div>which encouraged the forming of study groups in the area of finite elements.</div><div>Traditionally the conference has attracted a large part of the Brazilian community in computational mechanics. It is oriented towards the development</div><div>and application of numerical techniques applied to engineering problems.</div><div><br></div><div>The congress has alternated countries between Brasil and Latin (American) Countries such as Argentina, Portugal, Spain and Italy. This year the congress is organised in Paris under coordination of Prof. <span>Adnan Ibrahimbegovic.
