<span style="font-size: 11pt; line-height: normal;">El crecimiento continuo en las capacidades de cálculo de las computadoras exige la adaptación de la forma de trabajo para poder aprovechar en forma óptima los recursos computacionales. Desde 2005, el único
argumento que ha incrementado la velocidad de procesamiento en las computadoras ha sido el cálculo en paralelo, ya sea paralelismo de instrucciones, de datos, de hilos o de nodos. La complejidad de las computadoras actuales que involucran estas cuatro formas
de paralelismo, requieren que la programación aproveche eficientemente estos miles de millones de transistores para obtener buen desempeño, eficiencia y escalabilidad. Esto lleva también a proponer optimizaciones a programas en uso, así como nuevos algoritmos
y estructuras de datos para los problemas en mecánica y multifísica computacional. Esta sesión intenta brindar un foro para quienes trabajan en la resolución de problemas de mecánica y multifísica computacional en procesadores tradicionales (CPU) o aceleradores
(GPU/MIC), aprovechando todas sus dimensiones del paralelismo, así como en clusters de nodos de estos procesadores.</span></p>

<span style="font-size: 11pt; line-height: normal;">The continuous growth in the computational capacities of computers requires the adaptation of the way of working in order to optimally take advantage of the computational resources. Since 2005, the only argument
that has increased the speedup has been the parallel computing, using parallelism of instructions, data, threads or nodes. The complexity of current computers that involve these four forms of parallelism, require that the program take advantage of these billions
of transistors to obtain good performance, efficiency and scalability. This also leads to propose optimizations to existing programs, as well as new algorithms and data structures for problems in computational mechanics and multiphysics. This session tries
to provide a forum for those working in the resolution of mechanical and multiphysics computational problems in traditional processors (CPU) or accelerators (GPU / MIC), taking advantage of all its dimensions of parallelism, as well as in clusters of processors.</span></p>
