The Simulation and Modeling Group at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales of the Technical University of Madrid has opened a research position for a PhD student. For it, the group is searching for enthusiastic candidates to complete a PhD
during, at most, four years in the Mechanical Engineering department of this school.
<div class="ContentPasted0">The selected candidate will join a dynamic group of researchers and work on a competitively funded project that investigates numerical methods for topology optimization in solid mechanics.</div>

<div class="ContentPasted0">Successful candidates must possess:</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">• An excellent academic record, including a completed Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related areas (Aerospace, Civil, Naval,</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">etc.),</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">• Excellent analytical abilities, self-motivated and the ability to work independently,</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">• Good programming skills in C, C++, or Python,</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">• Knowledge of numerical methods, PDEs,</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">• Medium-to-high knowledge of the English language,</div>
<div class="ContentPasted0">• Passion for study, analysis, simulation.</div>

<div class="ContentPasted0">• Knowledge on nonlinear continuum mechanics,</div>
