Caracterización Dinámica de un Sistema Embalse - Presa de Tipo Escollera
Abstract
The dynamic characteristics of reservoir-concrete faced rockfill dam systems are determined on dam faces of diverse slope. The dam-reservoir system is analyzed by means of a two-dimensional model, considering the dam as rigid and the fluid as inviscid and compressible. The distribution of hydrodynamic pressures is evaluated with the Helmholtz equation which is discretized applying a finite difference
technique. The dynamic characterization is given by the frequency response, which allows relating the resulting pressure force on the dam with the horizontal acceleration. As an example, the system response is presented fora particular acting ground motion ("El Centro" earthquake).
